We are pleased to inform you that our school will be hosting an internal debate competition "Pitch the Argument" on Friday, September 19, 2025, during school hours. This event is part of the NEC Junior initiative in collaboration with E-Cell IIT Mumbai, designed to engage young minds in exploring thought-provoking ideas about entrepreneurship, startups, and innovation.
Event Details
· For Grades 6, 7 & 8
Topic: "AI will create more entrepreneurs than it will replace."
· For Grades 9 & 11
Topic: "India's startup ecosystem is more hype than reality."
Objectives of the Competition
The debate aims to:
· Encourage critical thinking on entrepreneurship and startup culture.
· Develop public speaking, persuasion, and presentation skills.
· Provide students with exposure to multiple perspectives — from innovators to investors.
Competition Guidelines
· Each speaker will get 3–4 minutes for their argument, followed by an optional 1–2 minutes rebuttal.
· Teams will consist of equal representation (2 speakers per side).
· Participants are expected to use credible sources, case studies, and real-world examples to support their points.
· Creative storytelling and startup references are encouraged.
Participation & Selection
· Interested students are encouraged to register with their respective class teachers by September 10, 2025.
· At least 4 participants per grade group (2 on each side) will take part.
· Winning teams/speakers will be nominated to represent our school in further evaluations.
