We are pleased to announce the launch of the 11th Edition of the Arab Reading Challenge, an initiative launched under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The challenge aims to encourage students to develop a love of reading, enhance their Arabic language skills, broaden their knowledge, and develop independent learning and critical-thinking skills.
We are delighted to invite our students, including non-Arabic-speaking students and learners of Arabic as a second language, to participate in this exciting initiative.
1. Who Can Participate?
Students from Grade 1 to Grade 12 are eligible to participate. Non-Arabic-speaking students are welcome to join and will follow the special requirements applicable to learners of Arabic as a second language.
2. Reading Requirements for Non-Arabic-Speaking Students
Students are required to read 25 books in Arabic instead of 50.
Books must be written in Arabic, including books translated into Arabic.
Books should be appropriate to the student's Arabic language proficiency and reading level, rather than their age.
Students may choose books from different subjects, including stories, science, literature, and general knowledge.
Printed and electronic books are accepted.
Students are expected to read each book carefully and prepare a summary in their designated digital reading passports.
3. What Should Students Record?
For each book, students should record:
Students should be able to discuss the books they have read and demonstrate their understanding during the evaluation stages.
4. Books That Are Not Accepted
The following types of reading are not eligible:
Newspapers and magazines.
Stories included in school textbooks and the prescribed curriculum.
Reference materials and poetry collections.
5. Registration and Digital Resources
Students will receive guidance from the school's Arabic Reading Challenge supervisor on registration, downloading the digital reading passports, selecting suitable books, and completing the required summaries.

The digital library provides access to stories and books that students may use to support their reading journey.
6. Competition Stages
The challenge includes several stages of evaluation, beginning at the school level and progressing to higher levels for qualifying students. Participants will be evaluated according to the official competition criteria.
7. How Can Parents Support Their Children?
We kindly encourage parents to:
Motivate their children to read Arabic books regularly at home.
Help them select books suitable for their Arabic language level and interests.
Encourage them to complete their reading summaries independently and in their own words.
Follow up on their reading progress and celebrate their achievements.
Your support and encouragement will play an important role in helping students develop confidence in Arabic and enjoy the experience of reading.

Parents who wish to register their children for the challenge are kindly requested to contact the Arabic Department or the designated school coordinator for further instructions and registration details.
Please note: The school's internal registration deadline and any additional arrangements will be communicated by the school.
