We wish to inform you about an important policy that all schools in Abu Dhabi—both public and private—are required to follow, as per Ministerial Resolution No. (851) of 2018 and the updated guidelines from ADEK and the UAE Ministry of Education regarding Student Behaviour Management.
To ensure a safe, respectful, and focused learning environment, the following items are strictly prohibited on school premises:
Mobile phones
Smartwatches
Electronic gaming devices
Cameras
These items are considered disruptive to the educational process and may pose risks to the privacy, safety, and wellbeing of students and staff.
In the event of a genuine emergency where a student must carry a mobile phone, the student is required to hand over the device to the class teacher or designated lead teacher immediately upon arrival, before entering the classroom, without exception.
Any student found in possession of a prohibited item without prior approval will have the item confiscated immediately.
Parents/guardians will be contacted and must sign:
Form 24 at the time of confiscation, and
Form 25 at the time of the device's return.
First violation: The device will be held by the school for one month.
Repeated violations: The device will be retained until the end of the academic year.
If the device contains unauthorized photos or videos of students, staff, or school facilities, the incident will be escalated to the Child Protection Officer and ADEK’s Child Rights Unit for further investigation.
The use of cameras or camera-enabled devices is strictly prohibited on campus unless prior written approval has been granted for a school-approved educational activity.
We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring that your child is fully aware of and complies with this policy. This collective effort supports our commitment to maintaining a disciplined, secure, and productive school environment.
If you require any further information or clarification, please feel free to contact a member of the School Leadership Team (SLT).
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
Thanks and Regards,
