PN 563--Polymers on the Move 2026 – Borouge STEM Program [GRADES 6-12]

Respected Parents and Students,

 

We are pleased to inform you that our school has been invited to participate in Polymers on the Move 2026, an educational STEM programme launched by Borouge, a leading international petrochemical company delivering innovative polyolefin solutions to customers and communities around the world.

 

The programme is designed to inspire students through hands-on STEM learning and to build their awareness of polymers, the circular economy and the responsible use of plastics. All sessions are delivered by Borouge subject matter experts, giving students a valuable opportunity to engage directly with industry professionals.

 

 Programme Details

 

·       Programme: Polymers on the Move 2026

 

·       Organised by: Borouge (Sustainability Department)

 

·       Eligibility: Students of Grades 6 to 12

 

·       Venue: In school / Online / Borouge Innovation Centre, Sas Al Nakhl, Abu Dhabi

 

·       Dates: To be announced (as per confirmed schedule with Borouge)

 

 Options Available

 

1. In-School Session

An interactive discussion covering plastics and polymers, the value of plastics, plastic waste and related solutions.

Duration: 30–60 minutes, depending on students' level of interaction.

 

In charge Teachers- Angitha Pillai and Kavita Mohan 

 

2. Online Session

The same interactive discussion, delivered through the school's preferred online platform.

Duration: 30–60 minutes.

 

In charge Teachers- Hima M.M , Krishna Kavya

 

3. Borouge Innovation Centre Programme

      Awareness Session: a 30–60 minute interactive session.

      Laboratory Experience: an approximately two-hour guided tour of the Innovation Centre, including a Safety Moment video and visits to the Analytical and Physical Sciences (APS) Laboratory, the Polymer Compounding and Conversion (PCC) Laboratory and the Materials and Applications Science (MAS) Laboratory.

 

Student Capacity for the Innovation Centre visit:

     Up to 20 students from Grades 6–8 per visit

     Up to 40 students from Grades 9–12 per visit

 

In charge Teachers- Shamsudheen Arakkal, Ameenath Shiju

 

Students can participate only in any one mode of the learning sessions- In school / Online / Borouge Innovation Centre

 

🌍 About the Borouge Innovation Centre

 

Located in Sas Al Nakhl, Abu Dhabi, the Innovation Centre is a hub for innovation in polymer development and application technologies. Scientists, researchers, engineers and laboratory technicians work together there to develop new materials and apply advanced technologies, equipment and polymer-testing capabilities. Scientific mindset, teamwork and collaboration are the main drivers behind the new polyolefin solutions developed at the Centre.

 

 Why Should Students Participate?

 

Participation in Polymers on the Move 2026 can help students:

 

·       Understand the science of polymers and how everyday materials are made

 

·       Learn about the circular economy, recycling and responsible use of plastics

 

·       Experience a real industrial research laboratory first-hand

 

·       Interact with practising scientists and engineers

 

·       Connect classroom Science and Mathematics with real-world applications

 

·       Explore future career pathways in STEM and sustainability

 

·       Develop curiosity, teamwork and an innovative mindset

 

📝 Registration

 

·       Participation is free of cost.

 

·       Seats for the Innovation Centre laboratory visit are limited and will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

·       Interested students of Grades 6 to 12 may submit their names to their respective in charge Teachers on or before Thursday, October 01, 2026.

 

·       Selected students will be required to submit a signed parental consent form before the visit.

 

·       Students attending the Innovation Centre visit must be in proper school uniform and must follow all safety instructions given by Borouge staff during the laboratory tour.

 

We encourage our students to make the most of this excellent opportunity to explore Science beyond the classroom and to learn how innovation shapes a more sustainable future.
