PN 1042--Enforcement of Mobile Phone Policy on School Premises [Grades 6-11]

Respected Parents and students,

In line with the ADEK Student Behaviour Policy and Ministerial Decision No. 851 of 2018 on student conduct, Sunrise English Private School would like to bring to your attention the updated guidelines regarding the use of mobile phones and electronic devices on campus.

Key Points of the Policy:

  1. Mobile Phones: Students are not permitted to bring mobile phones to school under any circumstances. Any student found carrying a mobile phone on school premises will have the device confiscated for one month. Repeat violations may result in the phone being withheld until the end of the academic year.

  2. Tablet Devices: Tablets (e.g., iPads) are allowed only for educational purposes and strictly under the supervision or approval of a teacher. Using tablets outside lesson requirements—including breaks or before/after classes—is considered a breach of school regulations.

  3. Purpose of the Policy: Restricting mobile phone use helps students to:

    • Maintain focus during lessons, particularly in subjects that require sustained attention, such as mathematics.

    • Minimize digital distractions and enhance overall classroom engagement.

    • Develop responsible digital habits and cultivate balanced personalities

Guidance to Parents:

  • Kindly ensure your child does not carry a mobile phone to school.

  • Support the school's efforts by discussing the importance of this policy with your child and encouraging alternative ways to communicate after school hours.

  • For emergencies, parents can contact the school's reception, which will facilitate necessary communication with students.

We seek your full cooperation in reinforcing these guidelines, ensuring a focused and disciplined learning environment for all students.

PN 1040----Re-sit exams-Grade 6-8

Respected Parents and Students,

According to ADEK's rules, it is mandatory to enter the Term-1 and Term2 marks in the ESIS. The average of these two marks will be taken for the promotion. If any student gets less marks than the minimum pass marks, the student has to write the mandatory re exam. Reexam will be conducted only for those who fail the exam with a big margin of marks.

Considering all the above facts parents are requested to make sure that their ward prepares well for the upcoming exams and scores better marks.

Required Pass Marks for different classes and subjects

Grade 6-8 -- Islamic & Arabic pass mark is 50/100, USST pass mark is 60/100 and all other subjects 33/100

PN 1033---English Department Newsletter – Secondary Section

Respected Readers

Warm greetings! Ah here we are again! With great pride and renewed enthusiasm, the dedicated team of the Secondary English Department returns with the latest edition of our newsletter, 'Pages and Perspectives', thoughtfully curated around the theme 'Cultivating Thought through Language.'

Like a vibrant literary circle; our own Canterbury camaraderie, this spirited collective of young writers, reflective thinkers, and passionate mentors has come together to celebrate the power of words. Each page is a testament to curiosity, creativity, and critical thought, lovingly shaped by the hard work of our students and teachers.

We invite you to journey through these pages; read, muse, and enjoy. Flip through slowly, linger over ideas, and allow each piece to chisel and enrich your perspectives. Then, sit back, recline, and savor the voices, visions, and verve that language makes possible.

We leave you with a brief verse to carry the spirit of this edition:

'Open Pages and Perspectives', let every page inspire,
Read, reflect, and let your thoughts rise higher;
in words we meet, in ideas we grow.
Turn the page, and let your curiosity flow.

Happy reading!
