On the occasion of the Year of Zayed, Abu Dhabi University is organizing a competition for the students of Grades 6 to 12, entitled «Kunooz Zayed», to promote knowledge about Sheikh Zayed's life and achievements and preserve his legacy. The competition is conducted in three different categories:
1. Research (Individual & Group)
2. Work of Art
3. Information Contest
Students who are interested in participating should submit the application-Hard copy to their respective class teachers before May 31st, 2018. The competition will be held in September 2018.

The competition consists of designing and implementing applications that focus on topics such as Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM). The aim of this competition is to encourage interest in STEAM-based learning among UAE's youth by tapping into students' natural passion for creative thinking.
In 2018, the competition is open for all Public and Private Schools in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. This competition is part of the ADEK's Innovation Initiatives.
THEMES AND PROJECT FORMAT
The themes of the competition is based on students' learning in STEAM disciplines and can be developed in several forms such as (not limited to):
· Educational Games (e.g. word games, cross words, math equation)
· Creative apps to demonstrate science knowledge (e.g. solar system animation, chemical composition, biological exploration)
· Ideas to demonstrate UAE culture and heritage (waving of UAE flag upon touch, quiz on UAE history, maze on joining UAE seven emirates)
· Apps to solve a science problem (e.g. trajectory of a moving object, Atomic structure)
· Code-based Desktop, Mobile, Web application, GIS app, Multimedia, Hardware, Robots

I am delighted to inform you that UAE's largest math puzzle championship, KENKEN International Championship 2018 (KIC 2018) has opened its doors once again to the students of Sunrise English Private School.
KIC is an annual International competition (International round to be held in New York), being conducted in the UAE. It was launched for the first time in 2016 and has been very successful in peaking the interest of students throughout the UAE. In the last two years over 20,000 students from more than 300+ schools all over the UAE have participated in the Championship.
Solving Kenken puzzles help students improve their math skills, logical reasoning and strategic thinking. The idea of the championship is to expose students to the benefits of developing competitive puzzling into a productive hobby. Students can expect to win certificates and medals at every level of the championship, and 6 winners from all over UAE will be awarded an all expense paid trip to represent UAE in the International Level at New York.
Sunrise English Private School will be hosting the School Level Round on 10th June 2018. Research has shown that Yoga and Meditation offers an effective solution to problems that arise in children. Regular Yoga makes them more focused. It improves intelligence and memory and contributes to the overall development of the personality. We are pleased to inform that our school in collaboration with Art of Living Foundation – Abu Dhabi Chapter has decided to include yoga classes in After School Activities. Parents who wish to enroll their ward for the yoga class are requested to give the names to the class teacher by 25.04.2018.For further information kindly find the attachments.
