Game development for kids can be a great way to hone a variety of 21st-century skills. The potential skills that they can develop range from those related to analytical thinking such as problem-solving, decision-making, logical reasoning, design thinking, storytelling, to technological hard skills such as coding and programming.
The department of computer Science has organized a 'Game Development Challenge' on September 20, 2024(Friday) to provide such an opportunity for students of Grade 3 to 5. The main objective is to motivate young students to develop skills and have fun doing it with creative exploration.
Details of the Competition
· Date of Competition: Friday, September 20,2024
· Venue: Computer science lab, Sunrise English Private School.
· Mode: Scratch Programming (block-based platform)
· Topic: Students are free to design their own game.
Judging Criteria:
· Script/Code – Functionality and simplicity in code
· Animated sprites and backgrounds are appreciated
· Overall Creativity and structure
Rules of the Competition:
· Grades Eligible: Grade 3-5.
· Attire: All participants should be in school uniform.
