PN313-- Peer tutoring [Grades 9-11]

Students and Parents,

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Peer Tutoring Program at Sunrise English Private School – an initiative aimed at improving student performance through collaboration, leadership, and support from peers.

About the Program

The Peer Tutoring Program is a student-led academic support system where students who demonstrate strength in subjects like Science, Math, or Commerce will assist peers who need extra help.

Tutors will teach specific concepts in a clear and relatable manner. This process not only helps learners but also enhances the tutor's understanding, confidence, and communication skills.

Goals of the Program

• Improve student academic performance through regular concept reinforcement

• Encourage student initiative and leadership

• Promote collaborative learning and mutual growth

• Provide a safe space for questions and clarifications

• Strengthen communication and mentoring skills in student tutors

 

 Program Structure

• Frequency: Once a week during designated periods

• Format: Conducted under teacher supervision

• Eligibility:

o Grade 9: Science and Mathematics

o Grade 11: Science and Commerce Streams

• Student Tutors: Selected based on:

o Academic performance

o Teacher recommendations

o Willingness to help peers

 

    How It Works

• If a class is struggling with a topic or wants a refresher, they may inform their Class Representative or Prefect.

• The Class Rep/Prefect will coordinate with the Peer Tutoring team.

• A tutoring session will then be arranged during a mutually suitable period.

• Tutors will present the concept using relatable examples, visual aids, or simplified methods for better understanding.
