                                                     On behalf of, the American Writers Museum, Sunrise English Private School extends a warm invitation to all students to participate in the annual John Estey Student Writing Competition. Inspired by the thought-provoking quote from Mary Doria Russell's The Sparrow - "Tradition was safety; change was danger" - we encourage you to delve into the realms of speculative fiction, deep philosophical inquiry, and creative expression.

                                                 This esteemed competition provides a platform for students to showcase their writing talents and explore their creativity. Whether you're drawn to fiction, nonfiction, poetry, songwriting, scenes, short monologues, or any other form of writing, this is your chance to let your imagination soar.

Details of the competition are as follows:

• Age Categories:

• Elementary Grade Level (Grades 3-5)

• Middle School Grade Level (Grades 6-8)

• High School Grade Level (Grades 9-12)

• Deadline for Submissions: May 31,2024

• Word Limit: 1,000 words or less (regardless of format)

• Submission of essays via email only to respective English Teacher.

PN 96- Global Math Debate League [Grade 5-8]

Respected Parents and Students,

                                                        The school, in collaboration with Unmath school is excited to share the commencement of The Global Math Debate League 2024 which has taken up entirely a new approach for the academic year 2024-2025. We are bringing a new offline experience where students can showcase their Math Interpretation skills on a global platform, where 8 nations will come together and strictly talk about Math.

 

 Global Math Debate League is where students get to debate around the application of math and its relevance in day to day activities. 

 

A few key highlights are:-

 

a) This Debate is completely free and there are no fees / registration costs  for students / schools. 

b) All Logistics pertaining to National & International Travel for shortlisted students will be sponsored. 

c)This is a Global event (As of now 8 nations are participating) - Nepal, India, UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Sri Lanka, Saudi. 

d)This will help us push the approach of Math beyond textbooks. 

e) Grades 5 - 8 can participate.

                                                    We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Young Reporters Writing competition at Sunrise English Private School for grades 4 to 12. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your expertise and passion for writing. The competition aims to promote students' creative thinking and journalistic skills.

Subject: Call for Entries:  Young Reporters Writing

Competition Details:

Eligibility: All students from grades 4 to 12 at Sunrise English Private School are eligible to participate.

Guideline:

Participants are required to write a report on the given topic.

The report must be well structured with a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. It should be written on an A4 size paper.

Submission of the report should be in hard copy and submitted to the respective English teacher on or before 29^th April 2024.

(Please refrain from taking reports from Google.)

Topics:

Grade 4 to 5 – A report on the Fancy Dress competition held on Christmas Day.

Grade 6 to 8 -  A report on talent shows on Children's Day.

Grade 9 to 12-  A report on Inter School Sports Activities.

Selection Process: The  English teacher of respective grades will evaluate all submissions based on creativity, structure, relevance to the topic, and overall writing skills. The students will be chosen as "Young Students Reporters" for this Academic Year and will receive a certificate of appreciation.

         Get ready to showcase your photography skills and creativity in our upcoming online competition at Sunrise English Private School! We are thrilled to invite student photographers from grades 4 to 12 to participate in our assembly photo showcase.

Subject: Call for Entries:  Young Student Photographers for Assembly – Online Competition

Competition Details:

Theme: The theme for this competition is "Art in the ordinary or Nature's Patterns."

Eligibility: All students from grade 4 to 12 at Sunrise English Private School are eligible to participate.

Submission Guidelines:

1.     Each participant may submit up to three original photographs.

2.     Photos must be in digital format (JPEG or PNG) and high resolution.

3.     Submit photos via class teachers email id on or before 29th April 2024.

[Participants are strictly prohibited from using copies of photographs sourced from Google or any other online platform.  Any infringement will result in immediate dismissal from the competition.].

Selection Process: The class teacher will evaluate all submissions based on creativity, composition, relevance to the theme, and overall impact.

Recognition: The selected students will be chosen as 'Young student photographers'. They will be recognized for their outstanding work during the assembly and will receive a certificate of appreciation.

This is your chance to capture the beauty and essence of nature through your lens. Let your creativity shine and share your unique perspective with our school community.

PN 81---PROHIBITING THE USE OF SMARTPHONES IN SCHOOL

Respected Students and Parents,

                                                    Warm greetings. We at Sunrise English Private School understand the need for students to stay connected with their families and maintain a sense of security. The school is committed to ensuring the safety and security of its students. For this reason, it has a comprehensive security system in place to maintain a safe and secure environment for its students.However, it has come to our attention that some students are using their smartphones to engage in activities that are not conducive to their academic learning. Therefore, we would like to inform you that we will no longer permit students to bring smartphones to school. In case your ward has to bring a phone to school for emergency purposes, it should be a basic phone with no advanced functions. We would like to remind you that if your ward is found to be in possession of a smartphone.Even after the issuance of this circular, we would be forced to confiscate it.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IN ORDER TO CARRY A BASIC PHONE, PERMISSION MUST BE TAKEN FROM THE SECTION HEAD VIA EMAIL.
