PN 195-- Annual College of Engineering Hackathon - Grade 6 to 12



Respected Parents and Students,

     Abu Dhabi University's College of Engineering is delighted to announce the 3rd 


 and warmly invites you to be part of this extraordinary event. Building upon the success of previous hackathon competitions, this year's iteration promises to elevate engagement and innovation to new heights.

 

At the 3rd Annual College of Engineering Hackathon, participants will be presented with real-world sustainability challenges at the start of the day. Teams will be paired with their teachers and undergraduate student co-mentors to provide guidance and support as teams develop their solutions and presentation skills.

Participants will also have access to short-recorded tutorials, offering insights into simple tools for designing web/mobile applications. Each team will then showcase their solutions through a poster or a vlog, employing text, image, video, and audio generative AI to bring their ideas to life. A distinguished panel of judges will evaluate the solutions and determine the winners based on creativity, feasibility, and impact.

 The hackathon offers two participation tracks: 

Cycle 2 for students in grades 6-8 and 

Cycle 3 for students in grades 9-12. 

Students from Abu Dhabi University will join the participating teams and their school supervisors to provide technical and logistical support in these challenges. 

 

Rewards:

·       Certificates for all participants

·       Recognition for top 10 schools

·       Social media coverage and recognition for participating schools

·       Select winners will receive special recognition.

o   Youngest Female Participant

o   Top Three Mentors

o   Best Male Presenter

o   Best Female Presenter

·       First, second, and third place winners in the Cycle 2 and University Student Mentors Track: AED 2,500, 1,500, and 500 per team

·       First, second, and third place winners in the Cycle 3 and University Student Mentors Track: AED 3,500, 2,500, and 1,500 per team

All winning team members, including mentors, will equally split the awards.

Interested Students please submit your project idea to the respective computer science teacher by  May 13, 2024.
