PN 609--ACER EXAM SCHEDULE [GRADE 3-9]

Respected Students and Parents, 

                                                               The Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has mandated that all students from Grade 3 to 9 participate in an external assessment. Sunrise English Private School has chosen ACER IBT as the required assessment as per the National Agenda Parameter for Abu Dhabi and UAE. 

 

1. The ACER exam will be conducted online (as per the instructions by ADEK) and scheduled as per the attachment during the month of November 2024 during the school hours. 

 

2. The assessment will be for English, Mathematics & Science and will be conducted during school hours as per the attached schedule.

 

3. All students must participate in the exam.

 

4. Students are requested to bring TAB or LAPTOP only for the exam which should be fully charged. Charger also should be brought along with the device (TAB or LAPTOP devices will support the exam).

WIFI Connectivity will be provided by the school.

 

5. Please note the exam is for 1 hour duration.

6. Students can carry notebooks and textbooks for the 3rd period onwards as per time table on the particular date of exam.

 

7. Students are allowed to carry the device only on the allotted date of their exam as specified in the attachment. Exams will be conducted strictly as per the attached schedule only.

PN 606--Science Quiz Competition Grade 3- 5

Respected Parents,

                     We are excited to announce that the Galaxy Club (Primary Science) of Sunrise English Private School, Abu Dhabi, is hosting Science QuizCompetition for Grade 3 to 5 students on November 15, 2024 as a part of World Science Day. All students from grade 3 to 5 must participate in the Preliminary round which will be held on November 12, 2024 inthe respective classes during EVS/Science  period. Only the qualified students will participate in the final round. 

The aim of the competition is to promote Scientific Literacy, Addressing Global Challenges,Encouraging Collaboration and Celebrating Scientific Achievements.

CONDUCT AND RULES OF THE COMPETITION

1. Grade 3 to 5 students are eligible to participate in this competition.

2. All students must prepare for the Preliminary round which will be held on November 12, 2024 in the respective classes during their EVS/Science period.  The Preliminary round will be based on their Syllabus, General Knowledge and Current Affairs related to Science.

3. The qualified   students will participate for the final round which will be conducted on November 15, 2024 during school hours.

PN 605--CODE QUEST - Grade 6-12 students

                                                         The Department of Computer Science of Sunrise English Private School is organizing the 'Code Quest' competition which showcases the coding and designing skills of the students.

The competition is open to all the students of grade 6 to 12. Students can participate individually only.

PROGRAMMING COMPETITION DETAILS:

PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE: Python

Students will be given a programming task classified into 3 rounds:

1) SPOT SOLUTIONS

2) BUG FIXING

3) PATTERN AND SEQUENCE CREATION

The above tasks will be based on basic python programming concepts.

Timing – 20 minutes for each round.

DIDI Project Design Space season 9 returns this year with electrifying hands on opportunities for high school students(Grade 9-12 or Year 10-13) in UAE to gain real-world experience in the field of design 

while solving authentic challenges for organizations across the region.This free program is created by Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation (DIDI), a private non-profit university offering a UAE Ministry of 

Education-accredited Bachelor of Design degree.

Respected Parents,

                                Sunrise English Private School, Abu Dhabi always focuses on the betterment of each and every student of our institution. Keeping in mind the mental health of the students we are coming up with an initiative to lend a supporting hand to the students who are experiencing difficulties at home. The programme is aimed at handling the students with special support and care. Parents  need to email a "Handle with Care" note beforehand to the teachers. No further questions will be asked to the student regarding the issues but the child will be given extra time and help during the school time. We expect the support of every parent in our new initiative.
