We are delighted to announce that the Young Innovators Program is back with its 7th edition. YIP aims to inculcate a scientific temper in young minds and provide them a platform to develop ideas that address major challenges that pose a threat to the world. In collaboration with the Students' Branding and Relations Cell, IIT Kharagpur, this program is an initiative to identify talented students with a creative aptitude who are interested in the field of science and technology and research-based careers.
About 7th YIP:
With the intent of providing a podium to the science nerds, IIT Kharagpur organizes a Global Science & Technology Competition empowering greenhorns to solve real-life challenges through innovation. YIP is a platform that showcases the transformative ideas of curious minds to address global challenges through technological convergence and scientific innovations. It brings together young, sharp minds from around the world to discuss current issues, unleash creativity, and work towards creating solutions.
Eligibility: Students of Grades 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, who must register in teams of either 2 or 3 members in respective competitions:
Students of class 8, 9 and 10: Junior Division
Students of class 10, 11 and 12: Senior Division
Students of Class 10 have the option to compete in any one of them.
Themes for 7th YIP:
Food Security: Develop innovations in sustainable agriculture, smart farming, and supply chain logistics to ensure reliable access to nutritious, safe, and sufficient food for all.
Technology for the specially-abled: Develop assistive technologies, tools, and systems to enhance accessibility, independence, and quality of life for individuals with disabilities.
Sustainability and environment, which includes waste to resource, green transportation, and clean energy: Focus on new solutions for converting waste into valuable resources, advancing green transportation, and developing efficient, scalable clean energy technologies.
Innovations in Education: Explore technology and pedagogical shifts to improve learning outcomes, personalize education, enhance digital literacy, and make quality schooling universally accessible.
Affordable healthcare solutions (hardware): Investigate new low-cost hardware, diagnostic devices, and streamlined medical equipment to make essential healthcare accessible and economical for underserved populations.

Registration Fee for Round 1: $20 per team member for SAARC countries' participants
$30 per team member for Non-SAARC countries' participants
