Nutrition policy

Respected Parents,
The prevalence of overweight and obesity has increased substantially over the last few decades. Nutrition policy is attached.

Our school is committed to promote healthy eating habits and adequate physical activity among our students. Thus, we encourage the active participation from our parents in selection and preparation of healthy food items during school hours and encouraging children to be physically active. Kindly note the following details:

1.Students are encouraged to have healthy breakfast at home itself.

2.Chocolates, sweets, biscuits, crisps and cakes are actively discouraged as everyday snacks in school or as part of lunch boxes. Chewing gum, sugary juices and carbonated drinks are not permitted on the school premises or while the children are representing the school.

3.Parents are encouraged to send home made food instead of fast food.

4.Include more vegetables and fruits as snacks

5.Parents are advised to encourage their children to choose healthy food items in order to get active participation from them

6. All students are encouraged to bring in a water bottle from home.

7.Parents and students with known food allergies are expected to inform the Class teacher / School Nurse in order to avoid any allergic reactions. These students will be discouraged to follow the practice of sharing of food.

8.Ensure that they watch less TV and are physically active at least one hour a day.  Enjoy fun physical activities with your children; play, walk, jump, dance and run.

Kindly contact the School Nurse if you have any further queries / suggestions to improve the healthy eating habits among our students. Let us all move forward with a generation who follows healthy lifestyle.
