Student Competitions and Education Events


Respected Parents,
                                 Greetings! The Emirates Literature Foundation focuses on bringing literature to life for students of all ages, working with their schools and teachers to enhance their enjoyment of reading for pleasure and offer them new opportunities and ideas.

                               Education events held at the annual Emirates Airline Festival of Literature and throughout the year give students from across the UAE the chance to meet inspiring authors and discover new books. The Festival's Education events include the following popular competitions which encourage students to unlock their potential in reading and writing:

 

1 – Taaleem Award (Poetry Writing)

Closing Date:  Thursday 17 October 2019

Award Ceremony: Saturday 8 February 2020

 

2 – Oxford University Press Story Writing Competition

Closing Date:  Thursday 17 October 2019

Award Ceremony:  Saturday 8 February 2020

 

3 – Chevron Reader's Cup (for schools)

Closing Date:  Sunday 6 October 2019

Semi Final Round: 29 October – 7 November 2019

Final round and Award Ceremony: Thursday 6 February 2020

 

4 – Emirates NBD Poetry for All competition (poetry recital)  

Closing Date:  Sunday 13 October 2019

Semi-final round: Week of 17 November 2019

Final round and Award Ceremony: Tuesday 4 February 2020

Special Celebration: Wednesday 5 February 2020
