PN 616--Guidelines for “Donate a Book – Share the Joy of Reading” Program



Respected Parents and Students,

                                      As part of our continuous effort to enrich our school library and nurture a culture of reading, we are introducing a new program — "Donate a Book – Share the Joy of Reading" initiative. This program aims to promote a love for reading through sharing, while instilling a sense of community involvement and social responsibility in our young learners. We are confident that this initiative will inspire our students to become lifelong readers and generous contributors.

Guidelines for the "Donate a Book – Share the Joy of Reading" Program

1. Suitable Books

Children's storybooks and novels (picture books, early readers, chapter books,short stories, novels,science fiction biographies).

Informational books appropriate for primary and secondary grades (science, art, nature, history, hobbies).

Language: English and Arabic

Reading level: Age-appropriate for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

2. Condition of Books

Clean, gently used or new copies.

No torn pages, scribbles, or missing covers.

No outdated or damaged content (e.g., old encyclopedias, obsolete textbooks).

Books should be free of strong odors (mold, smoke) and excessive wear.

3. Donation Process

Books can be brought to the library counter during school hours.

Each donor (student or family member) should bring Donation Card along with book(s)Which have given details:

Donor's name

Class/relationship (e.g., parent, grandparent)

Occasion (e.g., birthday, anniversary, in memory of someone)

Title(s) of donated book(s)

4. Acknowledgement System

Every accepted book will receive a "Gifted with Love" nameplate inside the cover, noting the donor's name and occasion.

Donation Cards will be showcased on the Thank-You Board/ Display in the library and in the Annual Library newsletter.

certificate of appreciation will be given to students who donate on their birthday or special occasion.

5. Library Review

The librarian will review all donations to ensure they meet these guidelines.

Books not suitable for the school collection will be returned to the  student donor.
