Respected Parents,

            Please note that via email PN 285; we have communicated to parents the precautionary measures taken by the school authorities due to the fact that few students are not keeping well and students receiving Doctors treatment for Stomach Pain, vomiting and Diarrhoea. The school is taking precautionary measures on a large scale.

We request our parents to refrain from defaming and degrading the schools name in various social media channels like Facebook, WhatApp, Instagram, etc. Parents are strongly urged to email the school authorities in case of any suggestions, grievances, complaints , etc and avoid defaming the school authorities on social media channels.

PN 285---Precautionary measures by the school authorities

Parents,

                This is to bring to your notice and attention that we have had several students complaining of vomiting, stomach pain and diarrhea in the last few days.Students have been receiving Doctor's treatment for the same. Please note that the school has taken several precautionary measures in this regard-

1. The water supply from the coolers  has been discontinued with effect from 28/09/2022 morning itself as a precautionary measure.

2. Students are being provided with Mineral Water for drinking purposes from 28/09/2022 morning. 

3. The water tank was cleaned up by a professional company on 28/09/2022.The school authorities ensure that the water tank is cleant up every 6 months by professional company. 

4. Samples of water have been sent to the laboratory for purity check. We are awaiting the report.

5. The school authorities are giving utmost importance to the health and safety of all the students. 

6. All the necessary steps are taken to ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the Classrooms and washrooms. We have instructed our support staff to follow up on the cleanliness aspects more minutely and thoroughly.

7. As cases of students being unwell were reported to us, we have emailed ADEK and DOH all the complete details of the students who are unwell as well as the follow up steps taken by the school authorities. Officials from ADEK and DOH visited the school on 29.09.2022.

                  We thank all our parents for constant support and cooperation in all our endeavours.

PN 283-- Updates to the COVID-19 Precautionary Measures

Students and Parents,

                                   The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee has announced the below updates to the COVID-19 precautionary measures effective from 28 September, 2022.

1] Mask wearing is Optional, except:

• In buses, the prayer room or school clinic.
 -For suspected COVID-19 cases (close contacts and symptomatic individuals)

2] Categories Entry Requirement

Students aged below 12 (vaccinated and unvaccinated)
• PCR if Symptomatic: A negative result is required if experiencing COVID-19 symptoms

Students aged 12+ (vaccinated and unvaccinated)
• First-entry: A 96-hour valid PCR test before the beginning of each term (valid for 96 hours)

• PCR if Symptomatic: A negative result is required if experiencing COVID-19 symptoms

                         Refer circular on PaintingCompetition-2022 for Grade 5-10 students. To sensitize the school children towards Energy Efficiency and Energy Conservation in domestic sector, the Ministry of Power (MoP), Government of India (GoI) undertakes pan India National Awareness Campaign by organizing Painting Competition for 5th, 6th and 7th Standards under Group 'A' and for 8th, 9th and 10th Standards under Group 'B'. This Competition is also applicable to schools situated outside India and participants from such schools would be judged separately for the selection of National winners and separate prize money for Group A & B.

PN 279--Pile It Up school challenge

Students and Parents

                    Single-use plastic bottles are only used once, or for a short period of time, and then dumped. Unlike reusable bottles, they are less durable and harmful to the environment.

The challenge aims to encourage students to adopt sustainable environmental practices such as recycling single – use plastic water bottles that they collect from their schools and homes and return it to dedicated containers at school to send for recycling.

Important notes:

• The challenge will end on the 22^nd of November 2022.
• The seven schools that collected the highest number of plastic water bottles and sent them for recycling will be awarded.

So kindly requesting the Students, staff, and parents to collect and return single-use plastic bottles for recycling and students should bring these bottles to school and deposit them in the designated recycling bins.

PN 276--Virtual Pilot Training Workshop - K12 students [GRADE 6-12]

                                      Introducing a unique opportunity for K12 students to learn how to fly an aircraft using a specially built flight simulator. A virtual STEM workshop with an experienced pilot:

·       to learn the fundamentals of flying a Cessna 172 airplane

·       to learn the basic aerodynamics of an aircraft, the forces acting on the aircraft, flight instruments, basic flight control and navigation.

Students and parents,

                                               School garden builds important life-long social skills and teach responsibility, communication, teamwork, ownership, and leadership. Gardens also foster a sense of community, bringing parents, teachers, students, and community members together. They will use it as a learning space and experience space for the development of cognitive and emotional-affective abilities. Due to frequent social interactions, it can be assumed that learning activities in school garden can promote emotional and social competence. They bridge theory and practice, reinforcing classroom learning with hands-on experience and observation.

So let our students get the best memories of childhood attached to the garden. After  Covid-19 , the ECO CLUB of sunrise English private School started a new initiative, renovation of our school garden from October first week onwards.
